Spooky theme day for Austin kids

News

The summer continues to be great! The weather has settled down for the most part, and we are getting lots of sunshine and warmth. Please keep in mind that the Threshermen's Reunion is going on this weekend. Heartland Recreation has a children's area set up at the reunion. All activities are free, and we are there for most of the day. Stop by and check it out!

In the coming week, the summer programs are busy, busy, busy. Here is a list of what we are up to:

Monday there is no theme day, as it is the Civic Holiday.

Tuesday is Summer Theme Days in Austin, where we will be having a Halloween Party. If you would like to, please come dressed up in your favourite costume! The day is open to all children ages 6-10. We will be at the Austin arena from 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. If you are unable to register in advance, please still stop by for the day.

Wednesday is Summer Theme Days in MacGregor, at the NorMac Centre. Today's theme is When I Grow Up… It's time to dream about what you would like to do one day. The day is open to children ages 6-10, and runs from 9:00 a.m.– 4 p.m.

Thursday is the Pre-teen Day. We will be playing basketball. There will be actual games and some skill activities, such as bump and HORSE. If you are between the ages of 10-13, come by and check it out.

To register please phone the recreation office at 685-2202, or email us at hrc@mts.net. I will be happy to answer any questions and take all registrations. The recreation office will be closed for the long weekend.
