RCMP detachment up in smoke

WINNIPEG — A fire that severely damaged a Manitoba RCMP detachment is believed to be an arson.

Parkland RCMP said Wednesday the blaze that ripped through Ethelbert RCMP detachment on June 15 was deliberately set.

The fire damaged living quarters and an office area in the building. A Mountie was inside the building at the time but escaped without injury.

Mounties ask anyone with information about the crime to call Parkland RCMP at 1-204-622-5020 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
