They walked in an effort to promote the need for justice as well as to bring home the issue of missing and murdered women in Canada.

On Tuesday about 15 individuals, who are family and friends of missing and murdered women and volunteers, walked through Portage la Prairie on their way to Winnipeg to try to raise awareness about the need to find some resolution in the cases of thousands of missing and murdered women in Canada. The Walk4Justice group started their trek on June 22 from Kamloops, B.C., and will complete the journey on Wednesday.

"Today's walk is to raise awareness about the over 3,000 missing and murdered women across the country," said Walk4Justice co-founder Gladys Radek, who was participating in the walk on Tuesday.
